K2PL/K2

Authorised maintenance, repair, overhaul, production of K2/K2PL tanks

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ, Polish Armament Group) and the Polish Ministry of National Defence have designated Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A. to take on the role of a system house for the K2 and K2PL tanks, as a tank centre, with several decades of experience in carrying out broadly defined tank platform maintenance, including the most modern Leopard 2 tanks operated by the Polish Armed Forces (SZ RP), whose overhauls have been carried out with great success.

This means providing the end user with services from the company’s impressive portfolio, as well as the manufacturing capacity, including the production of key spare parts and components. Bearing in mind that these newly-acquired platforms are expected to operate for the next 30-50 years, and the operating costs representing 80-90% of equipment maintenance costs after purchase versus 10-20% of acquisition costs, in comparison to whole amount spend in the project WZM S.A., together with PGZ, not only seeks to transfer technology to the highest possible level but also to implement as many Polish solutions as possible – specifically ones implemented in vehicles like the Krab, the Rosomak, the Leopard 2, and the Borsuk.

This will guarantee a reduction in operating costs but above all, will lead to a whole new level of independence and safety, providing jobs for many people in Poland. As the responsible entity, aware of its mission and service, WZM S.A. has pursued its goal of a comprehensive development and a full launch of these very important projects that will determine the future and power of the Polish Land Forces.
