The Abrams tanks in the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A.

On Monday 11 December, the first long-awaited M1A1FEP version of the Abrams tanks and the M88A2 technical protection vehicles acquired by the Polish Armed Forces were shipped to the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A.. More of these vehicles will arrive at the company in the following days.

These vehicles were shopped for preparation following sea transport for delivery to the Polish Armed Forces. As the contractor of these works on behalf of the Polish armaments industry, and the supporting party of General Dynamics Land Systems (the strategic partner of the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A. and the manufacturer of the Abrams tanks), the Works form teams with the GDLS to work side by side for the next year and carry out the de-processing.

These activities are part of a long-term strategy of the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A. and the Polish Armament Group, one of the main goals of which is the construction of a Regional Competence Centre related to the Abrams tanks securing all needs related to the acquired American equipment, for the Polish Armed Forces as well as Central Europe.

The ongoing expansion of the capacity at the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A. with the addition of further tracked platforms is another step towards the creation of a strong Armoured Centre in Poznań and Wielkopolska region, which will take care of the security of Poland and the Polish people.
