Official signing of the licensing agreement between WZM S.A. and BAE Systems, Inc.

On 10 April 2025, an official ceremony was held at WZM wheadquarters, to celebrate the signing of a cooperation agreement with BAE Systems. The agreement provides for the technology transfer for the M88A2 recovery vehicle maintenance.

The agreement is yet another milestone in WZM’s strategy to support the Polish Armed Forces by building domestic industrial capacity necessary to handle the logistics of U.S. tracked vehicles. The purpose is to establish the Regional Competence Centre with capabilities to provide logistics and technical support needed to maintain combat readiness of American armoured vehicles operated not only by the Polish Armed Forces, but also by the U.S. Army deployed in Europe, and by other European countries.

This is the first in a series of agreements that WZM looks to sign to establish industrial partnerships with OEM manufacturers.

The agreement secures WZM’s right to use BAE Systems’ intellectual property to maintain, repair and upgrade the tracked platform domestically. The objective is to develop capabilities to maintain and repair M1 Abrams tanks on the battlefield.
