MoU Signing Ceremony between WZM S.A., HCP S.A., and BAE Systems Inc.

On June 26, 2026 a trilateral agreement was signed between Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A., H.CEGIELSKI-POZNAŃ S.A., and BAE Systems Inc.

The signed Memorandum of Understanding builds on a cooperation agreement concluded in April 2025 between BAE Systems and WZM on the transfer of technology for the maintenance, repair, overhaul and sustainment of the M88A2 recovery vehicle. The presently signed agreement opens up the option to manufacture these vehicles in Poznań, the capital of Wielkopolska.

This cooperation is a clear signal, that Poznań is turning into a key production and servicing hub for the most modern armored platforms for the Polish Armed Forces. This will bring not just new technology and unique engineering capabilities to the city of Poznań, but also stability and development for decades to come,” said Grzegorz Szkaradek, CEO of HCP S.A., and WZM S.A.

The strengthening of Poland’s potential in relation to the M88A2 ensures that Poland will be able to support and maintain its key capabilities on which the Polish Army relies for many years to come.”

During the ceremony Director Rafał Poradka also read out a letter of congratulations from Adam Leszkiewicz, the CEO of PGZ S.A.: “The signed agreement represents a big step towards the strengthening of the Poland’s defense potential, and developing the capabilities of the national defense industry. I am particularly pleased that this cooperation concerns the M88 Hercules recovery vehicle – a key component of supporting M1 Abrams tanks, which are becoming one of the pillars of the Polish Army’s armored capabilities.”

The development of a comprehensive range of American tracked vehicles is a priority for WZM in terms of ensuring the provision of full support to the Polish Armed Forces, but also to support the US Army and other European countries where American equipment is stationed or used.
