Licensing agreement with Allison Transmission Inc.

Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne S.A. (WZM) has just signed a licensing agreement with Allison Transmission Inc. in a move to include the Cross-drive transmission in its service offering.

“Key Polish combat systems, including K9PL and Krab howitzers, Abrams tanks or Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, rely on Allison transmissions” – Elżbieta Wawrzynkiewicz, WZM President, commented on the deal. “WZM will act as Allison’s authorized partner for maintenance and repair done here in Poznań, rather than abroad, which is crucial from the perspective of national defense.” – added the President.

Allison Transmission Inc. is a global leader in the manufacture of fully automatic medium-duty and heavy-duty transmissions for civilian and military vehicles, from trucks to armored combat platforms. Allison transmissions are used in over 80 countries across the world.

The agreement comes as a solid addition to the already robust WZM’s Powerpack Centre for tracked platform MRO.
There are plans to further expand the collaboration with Allison Transmission Inc. and include other transmission types, as well as engine test shop installation and validation.
